2004 Napa Cabernets

2004 was a perfect year for growing Cabernet grapes in Napa Valley.  The spring was cool and the flowering was normal which resulted in a generous crop set.  Summer was warm with no big heat spikes so grapes ripened beautifully with cool nights in October which kept the acid levels in balance with the grape sugars.  All three of these wines are very different in style.  Silver Oak uses American oak barrels which makes a softer more supple wine.  Melka uses French oak which gives the wine a little more structure and style.  Corison is an old school wine which is drier and tighter in the beginning and slowly reveals itself over time.  All are ready to enjoy now!

2003 Australian Shiraz

Three different areas famous for producing world class Shiraz, all drinking beautifully now.  2003 was a very hot year with wild fires raging in many parts of the country.  The Shiraz that came out of this vintage are very concentrated and rich.  A unique chance to sample Australian magic.
