The Wine Vault Three Kinds of Wine

About The Wine Vault

From bank to wine bar....

According to the South San Francisco Public Library, the Bank of South San Francisco was established in 1905 by P. N. Lilenthal, with Gustave Swift and a Mr. Morris as investors. In 1917, they built Bank and Metropolitan Hall at 301 Linden and operated there until 1955. In later years, it was a Crocker Bank, Magna Carta University, and Wells Fargo Bank, before being converted to the current form.

Now, it's the home of The Wine Vault. The bar is made from the lower part of the tellers' cages, and the vault stores wine instead of cash. Our customers say things like "Thank GOD for this place!" and "It's not your father's wine bar." Since we specialize in small production wines, you can always find a taste of something unique at The Wine Vault.
